“ The lamb chops and lamb tikka was fantastic and well cooked. We really enjoyed the food. Will come again soon ”
“ Newly reopened, so we were told Excellent food, good prices and portions, drinks a bit expensive. Three large bottles of sauce on table, the spicy red one was great. Next table ordered the 4 pcs of kebabs, looked super value and the naan were mega sized and the price for a naan? Served by three waiters, the first who took the order was helpful but kept to himself, the second simply served the food, the third was friendly and very happy to chat. This is at the Southall, there is another at Tooting. Restaurent was recommended by someone we met earlier that morning, great recommendation ”
“ We went for lunch. It was okay but not great. The starters were a good size however our food came at separate times despite asking for it altogether. The restaurant was quite cold and it was hard to get waitresses attention. They did try to give us a take out dessert to compensate for our experience which was a nice gesture. ”
“ I have had some really tasty food with authentic flavours from this place. Been there quite a few times. The Lamb Biryani and the grilled chicken is delicious. Price is reasonable as well. If looking for yummy Afghani and Pakistani flavoursome food it is a must try. Service is ok nothing to complain about and the place is decent in terms of ambiance. ”
“ Deco is beautiful, floor is dirty and under the tables. Few trip hazards as you enter and trip hazards on the steps. Food is delicious. They have developed from a take away type operation to a posh looking restaurant. Service does not match the deco. The food comes on time but than you have to chase the waiter for anything additional. The owners need to go and experience proper restaurant service so they can implement it in this place. Be aware no tea or desserts if they are busy. Friday Saturday is no no. ”
“ I definitely recommend this place, food was top notch. Staff is very helpful and atmosphere is great. Worth visiting. ”
“ Amazing food and service, the food came out so quick and everything was absolutely delicious. They were inviting from the start and every dish was better than the next. I highly recommend!! ”
“ I had a truly wonderful experience at Watan. As a woman dining alone, I was treated with genuine respect and kindness by the entire team. They picked up on the fact that I felt most at ease with a female server, in a black shirt and hijab, and made sure to honour that without making a fuss, something small, but incredibly thoughtful. It made me feel confident and completely at ease throughout my visit. Now onto the food, absolutely incredible! The nihari was hands down the best I’ve had outside of back home. Rich, authentic flavours that instantly transported me. You can tell the chefs here really know what they’re doing. I also tried the doodh Afghan drink and loved it so much I ordered a second one on the spot. Milky, yummy, comforting, just perfect. Watan doesn’t disappoint. It’s rare to find a place that gets both the food and the atmosphere so right. I’ll definitely be back. ”
